this month we have been doing a few tests with a clear casting Epoxy Resin from Alchemie – one of many different resins they do but the one most recommended for deep fill and big pour River Tables and the like by their friendly rep Nigel – Alchemix EP 5242 Low Colour, High UV Resistant Epoxy Resin System.

 

 

The results were very good and with a bit more tweaking for the next few projects in the workshop we will have it pretty well perfect;  already, though,  it is far superior to the other epoxies I have used over the years and have decided to start stocking this Epoxy (and maybe a few others plus ancillaries)  from Alchemie.

 

 

Epoxy Resin is available to callers to the premises store only –  we currently make zero profit off the sales of Epoxy so we hope you will browse and buy some wood while you are in for your epoxy!  I (Patrick) can advise on the best techniques for use of this epoxy and no doubt most customers will be able to share some of their knowledge and experience too.

Smallest size is 1.45kg as shown, £30 inc vat for the set – 1kg plus 450 g of hardener;  next size up is 7.25kg @ £120 inc vat for the set – 5kg plus 2.25kg of hardener.  It is mixed very accurately by weight in that 1 : 0.45 ratio but very approximately 1kg of this = 1 litre,  if it helps to visualise the quantities,  so it is approx a 1 litre then a 5 litre,  plus hardeners at nearly half the volume.
