Special batch of long awaited and much anticipated Burr Horse Chestnut – the conker tree – the first 12 boards of this unique tree which came from an estate in Nottinghamshire, where it had been felled due to having died after a very long life – this is the top of the tree, the bottom I still have to put through the sawmill and reaches 6 foot diameter!

I have presented 6 of the best boards as 3 bookmatched sets, suitable for table tops or many other uses. They could be orientated as standard bookmatches or reverse style for less of a mirror image look – see the pics where I have pictured some of them in different styles.

Horse Chestnut is normally quite plain but the timber from this old tree is uniquely figured, with pink heart colour, burr and flame. Once polished this timber will be even more stunning.
